Artwork story

Girragan (red appearance of the sky at sunset), represents my memories of the red sky on Country due not only to the sun as she sets, but the red dirt of Mother Earth and how she connects to the sky as the day fades, casting her colour into the air.

Red running lengths of the sky at sunset, but also the rich red dirt, both connecting and reflecting the colour of the sky as night approaches.

For me, this time of day is pure magic, and for all its colour, strangely calming. The air seems to settle, stars begin to glimmer in welcome, and we’re offered the opportunity to take a beautiful moment to casually reflect on the day that was.

As more and more stars appear, I’m reminded of just how wonderfully connected our lives on Earth are to the magic of the sky.
