About us

Hi there!

I'm Sandie, the owner of Salt & Sand, a small business based on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast.

My passion for using design to create spaces that are functional, beautiful and bring joy to the people who live in them has grown over many years working in the experience design industry. 

After spending the majority of our weekends travelling from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast to enjoy the idyllic beaches and world class surf breaks (yes, I'm very biased!) in 2019 my partner and I decided to move here permanently.

I fell in love with the relaxed and laid back feel of coastal style when I began furnishing and styling our new home. In early 2021, I took a leap of faith and decided to turn what had previously been a part time hobby and long time passion for interior design and styling, into something more, and Salt & Sand was born.

Our lovingly curated collection of homewares and furniture is inspired by the distinctive diversity of the Australian coastal landscape and embraces a number of coastal styles. From the eclectic and fun nature of Coastal Boho to the sleek lines, minimalism and blonde timbers of Modern Coastal & Scandi Coastal and the rustic textures and nature inspired colours of Australian Coastal. With a fun and playful pop of colour and pattern occasionally thrown in, our collection will help you create a space that is uniquely yours.
